- Job Description:Purpose:
Responsible for the Day to Day Mechanical and Electrical Operations of client Data Centers.
Scope:
- Responsibility for Mechanical & Electrical Infrastructure BAU operations across all client Data Center Locations
- Leading multi disciplined work force of highly technical Professionals
- Budgeting and management of staff costs, operating budgets and large Capex investments
Major Accountabilities:
OPERATIONS:
- Health and Safety
- Capacity reporting on all key M&E resources, ensure all plant operates within defined capacity standards
- Monitor load growth rates to ensure individual CAPEX projects are delivered in a timely and scalable manner
- Ensure all recommendations from client Insurers are acted in a timely and correct manner
- Produce and maintain a full set of standard and emergency operating procedures for each data center
- Data Centre Planning, Resource Management & Optimization (Space, Power & Cooling).
- Schedule, plan and supervise Routine Power Down Tests / Data Center Audits / Inspections
- Drive continuous review and improvements across all operations processes
- ITIL - Incident, Problem, Configuration, Change, Release, Management
- Environmental monitoring (Power, Cooling, Fire Sup, Water, Access, Temp etc)
- Ensure appropriate & timely escalations when Operations interests are being compromised
- Root cause analysis for incident and failure management.
- Full Life Cycle Asset management - Tfar, Assets Center, reuse & Disposal, etc
MAINTENANCE
- M&E Infrastructure deployment Planning and Implementation across all client Data Centers.
- Ensure M&E maintenance schedules across all client Data Centers are to best industry standards and are reviewed annually to ensure the same.
PROJECTS
- Support Data Center Consolidation projects
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise on Data Center M&E Capabilities
- Ensure compliance to all other defined data center standards and technical policies.
- Identify and specify plant upgrade and/or remediation projects
- Produce and review tender specifications and contracts for project works
- Green Agenda
TEAM & ORGANISATION
- Build, develop and lead a highly effective and motivated work force, both staff and contractors
- Ensure, through training, annual appraisal and vendor management that all direct and third party operational staff are fully conversant with all standard and emergency procedures
- Effective Vendor and Contract Management
- Skills/Requirements:Professional Requirements
- 10 Years experience in a similar role + appropriate Mechanical or electrical qualification preferred.
- Strong analytical skills
- Finance (Budgeting and Forecasting)
- IT Management (People, Project, Process)
- People Management ( Building, Developing & Leading High Performance Teams)
- Strong presentation skills, verbal and written
