Client:               Publishing Industry

Title:                 System Support Specialist

Duration:           6 months

Location:           New Jersey

Pay Rate:          $35 to $40 per hour

Job Overview:

Responsible for systems support, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, problem resolution tracking, software upgrades, application support and optimization, and project implementation planning for enterprise web applications.  Ensures solutions meet business objectives, and establishes and maintains a high level of user trust and confidence in IT services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· The support responsibilities include: 24×7 rotational on-call support, troubleshooting, incident notification and resolution, problem management, post-mortem analysis, and root cause identification.

· Interacts with and coordinates activities of cross-functional teams, including development, system administration, database administration, network engineering and production support staff.

· Helps to develop and document standard operating procedures and best practices in our technical repository.

· Has the ability to identify gaps and proactively improve system inefficiencies.

· Candidate must have the ability to self-manage time and multiple constraints in a rapidly changing, high-pressure and complex technical environment.

· Travel is required when there is a need to attend meetings at customer locations.

Required Skills (Including specific Technologies and versions):

· Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills.

· Ability to learn and apply new technologies.

· Interact with non-technical colleagues and communicate issues in layman’s terms.

· Document procedures for use by other engineers.

· Excellent understanding and experience in deployment, management and troubleshooting of

ASP.NET applications running on IIS6

· Familiarity with programming concepts and practices

· Knowledge of C#, VB.NET, Javascript, and CSS

· Deployment and replication of Code using Microsoft Application Center

· Log mining techniques such as awstats and webalizer

· Scripting using VB/Batch in MS for scheduling batch jobs

· Version control systems: Subversion / CVS / Team foundation / VSS.

· Ability to debug ASP.NET errors and log files

· Knowledge of Microsoft SQL

· Experience/knowledge of Web cross-platform (PC/Mac; IE/FireFox/Safari) development/compatibility issues is a plus

· Overall experience: 7-9 years

Optional Skills/Comments:

· Knowledge of ADO.NET

· UNIX / Linux command line.

· BEA Web Logic Application Server 6.x, 8.x, 9.x, 10.x

· Sun ONE Web Server 7.0 and 6.x

· Apache web server 2.x

· BEA/Oracle AquaLogic Service Bus 2.X

· Oracle Identity Management

· Perl scripting

· UNIX shell scripting

· Solaris 2.8/2.9/10

· Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3/4/5

SALES ASSOCIATE – NASSAU COUNTY, LONG ISLAND

We have a new client… and they are a brand new start-up company.  They specialize in Credit Card processing and they were started by the owner of a major insurance company on Long Island.   The new company is operating under the same roof as the insurance company.

There is only one senior sales person right now and they are looking to hire a junior sales/admin Assistant. We can pay $18/hr MAXIMUM and this will convert to a $38-40K perm if all goes well after 90 days. Skills are below… very sharp, energetic admin who has a sales type of personality

- Quick learner who can hit the ground running

- Strong computer skills – word, excel, PP

- Ideally, they’d like someone right out of school, but would look at candidates with 1-2 years experience

Hot Job of the week – February 9, 2009

Client:               Banking Industry

Job Title:           Vendor Management & Strategic Sourcing

Pay Rate:          $35 to $40 per hour

Status:              Contract Assignment

Duration:            Three to Six months

Start Date:         ASAP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage regional procurement activity in accordance with Group Procurement Policies and Standards

· Negotiate contracts from start to finish, including the design and oversight of tendering, bidding and selection processes, with all stakeholders

· Participate in Group Sourcing Initiatives and Projects including Global RFQs

· Ensure Group-wide Contracts, including contractual pricing & terms and service standards are implemented

· Maintain a network or in-country contacts for Sourcing related matters

· Manage the ongoing relationship with major vendors, taking a global perspective, in accordance with the terms and service level definition of the contracts

· Act as the ultimate escalation point for issues with vendors, and the resolution point for any contract disputes. Report adverse operational trends, contract breaches of service, and individual events of significance in the strategic relationship

· Liaise closely with internal customers to ensure the commercial expertise of Procurement and Vendor Management staff is fully utilized to deliver maximum benefits

· Monitor and review regional expenditure patterns to seek out opportunities for cost savings and to ensure appropriate contractual arrangements are in place, including undertaking new and renewal of contracts

· Monitor external economical and market developments to dovetail with changes within the Business to ensure best pricing and supply of key products and services

· Work with Finance and Businesses to ensure internal recharges reflects usage and best practice, including Bank policies and guidance

· Ensure internals checks are in place to review invoices with agreed contractual prices and terms

The successful applicant will:

· Minimum 4 years of Procurement related experience

· Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Self starter, team player, and a problem solver

· Strong interpersonal & communication skills with various levels of external parties and internal staff

· Service oriented and cost conscious

JAVA TEAM LEAD – Temp to perm opportunity!!

Temp pay rate:   $70 - $85/hour

Perm salary:      $95 – $100K

Hours/Days:       9:30a – 5:30p – Mon thru Fri

This person is the only person on this team but they will be working in conjunction with 5 other people including user interface, parameter administrator, PM, executive sponsor. They need to have great communications skills as they will be dealing with clients.

MUST HAVE:

- 3 – 5 yrs experience

- Java 1.5 or better

- Spring / Hibernate

- CMS experience

- Hand coding
