Principal Software Engineer - Norwalk, CT


As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead a team on specific projects critical to our customers’ needs with opportunities to configure teams for projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and tackle new problems across the spectrum as we continue to push technology forward. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software and hardware.

Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.

Client is a leader in development of secure, hi-reliable systems for digital IP transmission by wire/Wi-Fi/LTE terrestrial networks, satellite, and fiber optics. We create the complex mathematical algorithms and products needed for ultra-reliable, highly secure, multicasting/datacasting of files and live streaming video on the future wired & wireless networks for delivery to fixed sites and mobile users.

Qualifications

PhD degree (or MS degree with 7+ years of experience) in Computer Science, further education or experience in engineering, or another technical related field.

Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to:

Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, or Go.

Experience working with two or more from the following:

Video Streaming, Web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, disbursed cloud storage, CDN distribution from Clouds, distributed and parallel systems, e-commerce, networking, and/or DRM security software development.

Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

PhD degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, further education or experience in engineering, or another technical related field.

Good understanding of core Internet network protocols (HTTP, TCP, UDP, and accelerated UDP)
