Credentialing Coordinator
Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Credentialing Coordinator serves as a key resource for administering the credentialing and re-credentialing activities within the team. This role ensures that all providers meet the necessary credentialing requirements for participation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the overall provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes while maintaining standard turnaround times.
Ensure credentialing and re-credentialing files are started on time and continue in the process according to standards.
Monitor the participating provider network for credentialing/re-credentialing deficiencies and take necessary action per policies and procedures.
Terminate providers who do not comply with credentialing standards.
Prepare and execute outbound communications related to credentialing events.
Research discrepancies related to provider information.
Assist in preparing weekly rosters to present providers for committee approvals/denials.
Support credentialing audits by pulling files and preparing them for presentation to external clients.
Obtain missing information from various sources, including providers, to ensure compliance with the Network.
Execute reports to review and update provider information and provide status to management.
Prepare reports on the status of credentialing activities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma
2-3 years of business experience in healthcare provider credentialing
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong time management skills for managing multiple projects concurrently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge of the credentialing/provider industry
Demonstrated sense of urgency
Experience with operating systems such as EDW/Business Objects

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (8 hours per day)
Duration: Up to 6 months (potential temp-to-hire for the right candidate)
LOCATION: New York, NY - Hybrid (NYC, preferably Tuesdays & Wednesdays but negotiable for at least one of those days)
SALARY: $20-$23 per hour
START DATE: ASAP
